Funded Programs

Our centre offers preventative health care assessments and chronic disease management programs for Indigenous patients at least every 12 months. These services are available free of charge to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients with a valid Medicare card. We encourage all of our Indigenous patients to get to know a regular GP so that you feel comfortable discussing your health.

The Closing the Gap (CTG) PBS Co-Payment Program means that Indigenous patients who hold a current Medicare card and are eligible for the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) will pay a reduced price for their PBS medicines. This initiative is designed to help close the health gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians by making it easier for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to access the medicines they need.

The CTG PBS Co-Payment Program is available at our practice, and we encourage all Indigenous patients to take advantage of this program. Get in touch with any enquiries.

Bawrunga Aboriginal Medical Service

Coffs Harbour GP Super Clinic is run by Bawrunga Aboriginal Medical Service (Indigenous Non-For-Profit Medical Service) and is a not-for-profit organisation.

It means that any money earned or donated to our Medical Centre goes back into the business to reinvest in new staff, facilities and technology—not into shareholders' pockets. This is important because it helps us keep our costs down, making healthcare more affordable for everyone.

As an Indigenous-run organisation, we provide a culturally-safe space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We understand the importance of culture and community, and we work hard to make sure our clinic is a place where everyone feels welcome.
