Dietetics is the study of the relationship between nutrition and health. Dietitians apply the art and science of human nutrition to help people understand the relationship between food and health and make dietary choices to attain and maintain health, and to prevent and treat illness and disease.
Rachel is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA). Rachel graduated from Griffith University, Gold Coast with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics. Rachel’s inspiration to become a dietitian stems from her desire to help clients discover how an adequate and balanced diet can help prevent and manage disease and positively influence overall health.
Rachel loves helping clients with all aspects of nutrition, however, her main interests include diabetes, heart health, weight management and irritable bowel syndrome management. Rachel is a firm believer that dietetic care should be practical and be provided with a personalised approach that meets her client’s needs and goals. Rachel is available for appointments on a regular basis here at the GP Super Clinic – talk to your GP about how a Dietitian could help you.
