Richard Widders

Richard is honoured to be living and working in his Great Grandmothers country, and acknowledges his heritage with the Bagawa Clan of the Gumbaynggirr nation
Richard has worked in Health for over 30 years, instigating the setup of what is now Galambila AMS, amongst his many achievements and milestones and has recently moved roles to local government.

Richard is a member of

Was a lifeline telephone Councillor for 13 years
Educator and mentor
Radio presenter for many years

Richard has the following qualifications:

  • an EEN certificate in Health
  • Certificate 4 in Businesses Management, Australian College of Health Service Executives
  • Graduate Certificate and a Diploma in Health Management University of New England Armidale

Richard has also works published on the following subjects:

  • Child Sexual assault in Aboriginal Communities
  • Tuberculosis In Aboriginal Communities
  • Wrote a play discussing Alcohol abuse and issues

Richard has a large family of 11 children/adults and 35 grandchildren
