Study Co-Ordinator – Coffs Harbour GP Super Clinic

Melissa joined the team in the GP Super Clinic Research Department in June 2015 and is thoroughly enjoying her new role. Melissa has gained even more valuable experience as follows:

  • liaises with clinical trial sponsors and principal investigators and provides assistance
  • Collects, analyses, and presents data to be entered on the electronic case report forms (eCRF)
  • develops and maintains record keeping systems and procedures
  • Prepares research ethics board applications
  • ensures that pre-established work scope, study protocol, and regulatory requirements are followed
  • collaborates with the PI and sponsors to respond to any audit findings and implement approved recommendations
  • reviews and develops a familiarity with the protocol and investigational product information
  • prepares participant tests, centrifuge blood samples,entract serum and prepare frozen and ambient shipping

Melissa joined the GP Super Clinic in March 2004 as a Medical Receptionist and gained the following experience before moving into the Research Deparment as a Study Co-ordinator:

Medical Receptionist – Coffs Harbour GP Super Clinic

  • Welcome and greet all patients and visitors, in person or over the phone
  • Register new patients and update patient details, book both GP and Allied Health appointments
  • Good knowledge of the Best Practice and Medical Director programs
  • Facilitates patient flow by being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
  • Responds to General Practitioners, patients, prospective patients, and visitor inquiries
  • Protect patient confidentiality by making sure protected health information is secured
  • Process Private Health claims, Medicare claims and resubmissions, process banking, prepare weekly reports, order and monitor reception stock.
