Coffs Harbour GP Super Clinic was first conceived in 2011, to be opened in 2013-2014.

The significance of the Coffs Harbour GP Super Clinic is that it is the first time an Aboriginal Medical Service in Australia has won a mainstream tender. But being as such had faced more hardships and opposition than other GP Super Clinics before it, but it has successfully developed into the modern clinic you see today.

The unique logo of Coffs Harbour GP Super Clinic is the Smilax Australis or Wait-a-While vine, which was chosen in relation to a dream time story; which speaks of an Elder who became caught in the prickly vine and touched the leaves to turn them into sweet Sarsaparilla for his tribe.

Traditional Owners Acknowledgement

We recognize the strength, resilience and capacity of Aboriginal people in this land and we pay respect to the knowledge embedded forever within the Aboriginal Custodianship of Country.

We Believe…

…in listing before speaking

…that more heads are better than one
